Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SmartBible (the "App"), operated by Zenith Pulse Consulting ("we", "us", or "our"), available at smartbible.app. Please read these Terms carefully before using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using SmartBible, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App.

2. Description of Service

SmartBible is a Bible reading and study platform that provides:

• Bible reading across multiple translations
• Study tools including bookmarks, notes, and highlights
• Reading plans, streaks, and analytics
• Community spaces for group Bible study, prayer requests, and shared highlights
• AI-powered study suggestions, verse recommendations, and contextual insights
• Audio Bible playback
• Verse and passage projection for live settings
• Search across Bible texts

3. User Accounts

• Age requirement: You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account and use SmartBible. By registering, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.
• Account security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at admin@smarterbible.app if you suspect unauthorised access.
• One account per person: Each individual may maintain only one SmartBible account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination.
• Accurate information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering and to keep your account information up to date.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SmartBible to:

• Send spam, unsolicited messages, or bulk communications
• Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
• Post hate speech, discriminatory content, or content that promotes violence
• Upload or share content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others
• Post obscene, sexually explicit, or otherwise offensive material
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or our systems
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to moderate content and enforce these guidelines. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination.

5. Subscriptions & Payments

Free Tier

SmartBible offers a free tier with access to core Bible reading features. Certain advanced features require a paid subscription.

Premium & Ministry Tiers

Paid subscriptions (Premium and Ministry tiers) are available via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Subscription billing is managed by RevenueCat in conjunction with the respective app store.

Billing & Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. Pricing is displayed in the App at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will continue to have access to paid features until then.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple or Google. Refund requests must be directed to the respective app store in accordance with their refund policies. Zenith Pulse Consulting does not process refunds directly.

6. Intellectual Property

Bible Texts

Bible translations available in SmartBible are used under licence from their respective publishers and rights holders. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute Bible text from the App beyond the limits permitted by the applicable licence.

User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of content you create within SmartBible, including notes, highlights, bookmarks, prayer requests, and community posts. By posting content to community or public spaces, you grant Zenith Pulse Consulting a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display that content within the App as part of the service.

SmartBible App & Branding

The SmartBible name, logo, design, and all associated branding and intellectual property are owned by Zenith Pulse Consulting. You may not use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission.

7. Community Spaces

SmartBible allows users to create and participate in community spaces for group Bible study and fellowship.

• Leaders: Community space creators and designated leaders are responsible for managing their spaces, including moderating content and members.
• Content removal: We reserve the right to remove any content from community spaces that violates these Terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law, without prior notice.
• No guarantee: We do not endorse or guarantee the accuracy of content posted by users in community spaces.

8. AI Features

SmartBible includes AI-powered features such as study suggestions, contextual insights, and verse recommendations. These features are powered by third-party artificial intelligence services.

• AI-generated content is informational only and should not be treated as theological authority, doctrinal guidance, or a substitute for personal Bible study.
• AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify AI suggestions against the Bible text itself.
• We do not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or reliability of AI features at all times.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

SmartBible is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

SmartBible is a Bible study tool and is not a substitute for pastoral counsel, professional theological education, or the guidance of a qualified spiritual leader. We encourage users to engage with their local faith communities.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zenith Pulse Consulting, its directors, employees, partners, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use SmartBible.

Our total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or R500 (five hundred South African Rand), whichever is greater.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account and access to SmartBible at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if:

• You violate these Terms or our community guidelines
• Your use of the App poses a risk to other users or our systems
• We are required to do so by law
• We discontinue the App or any part of it

You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting admin@smarterbible.app. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SmartBible shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of South Africa.

13. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may notify you of significant changes via the App or email. Your continued use of SmartBible after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
